I have been an Associate Lecturer in psychology at the OU for 13 years. I am also course director for an undergraduate certificate in cognitive psychology at ICE, University of Cambridge. I am a chartered psychologist and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My research background is in task switching, looking particularly at how people are able to switch between different language manipulation tasks. This relates more to the type of multitasking we do from day to day. I am currently writing up work on why written cues explicitly naming the tasks do not help in language switching, and also the role that ‘thinking out loud’ has.
My particular area of teaching interest is in cognitive psychology, although I teach a broad range of psychology topics.
