The Development Policy and Practice Group (DPP) carries out interdisciplinary research in science, technology and innovation systems, social inclusion and global justice, politics and policy of development and development management.
DPP is recognised for its internationally excellent research and its growing profile in generating theoretically informed and empirically grounded knowledge on the roles and impacts of individuals, social, and institutional actors in development. The group is continuously developing new conceptual frameworks and avenues of inquiry; it prides itself in attracting world-class researchers willing and able to expand conceptual and empirical horizons.
The group’s network of local and global partners provides students with access to a vibrant intellectual community. We are interested in research about innovation as a driver of social change that helps the poorer sections of society. We welcome proposals addressing innovation, governance, politics, and social justice issues in both the Global South and Global North.
Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent). If you are not a UK citizen, you may need to prove your knowledge of English.
