The Digital Humanities at The Open University (DH_OU) Research Collaboration is an interdisciplinary network that has made major contributions to the subject internationally. Members have produced publications in areas that include digital literary studies, hypertext studies, spatial humanities, semantic web, digital cultural heritage and the history of reading in the digital age.

The group’s research interests range from database approaches to 21st century digital reading and writing, and from text analysis to digital editions. The DH_OU collaboration includes a number of externally-funded interdisciplinary projects, such as the UK Reading Experience Database, 1450–1945 (UK-RED), Reading Europe Advanced Data Investigation Tool (READ-IT), the RÊVE virtual exhibition, the Pelagios network, the Listening Experience Database and Polifonia.

We welcome applications in areas that correspond with current staff research interests. We look for detailed and well-thought-out proposals, which set out specific research questions and outline the originality of your topic or approach.

Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) If you are not a UK citizen, you may need to prove your knowledge of English.
