This theme draws together members from across our OpenSpace Research Centre interested in the relations between global processes of environmental, cultural, technological, economic, and political change. Our research areas include, but are not restricted to: the links between society, culture and environment; biosecurities; geographies of the Anthropocene; informal and diverse economies; alternative food networks; sustainable production, consumption and the circular economy; media/culture and the environment; and environmental history and politics.
Externally funded projects in this field are often conducted in partnership with national stakeholders such as the National Trust. Harnessing unique approaches to data generation, circulation and engagement, our research has been recognised for both their local embeddedness and global reach.
Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent). If you are not a UK citizen, you may need to prove your knowledge of English.
