Our collective research agenda is defined by our commitment to Open Geographies: fostering new and emerging research exploring what it means to think geographically about the many social, political, cultural and environmental issues shaping these turbulent times.
We are not prescriptive in what you may set out to research – rather, our concern is with getting to grips with the many different issues, challenges and crises facing the world, driven by an overarching interest in the lively relationships between the spatial and political.
We draw inspiration from many different academic sources including: science and technology studies, anthropology, cultural studies, feminism, philosophy, political theory, postcolonial studies, urban studies and post-structuralism – and we are always open to new influences and ideas.
Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent). If you are not a UK citizen, you may need to prove your knowledge of English.
Applications are welcome to study any topic that resonates with the concerns of the OpenSpace Research Centre or Geography discipline more broadly.
