We have published extensively about how ceremonies expressive of local We have published extensively about how ceremonies expressive of local belonging, political affiliation, or the remembrance of the war dead intersect with religious and non-religious activities and identities. We have also published on the intersections of nationalist and religious identity and practice, emergent citizenships and social movements, and questions of identity and conflict in 19th—and early-20th-century England and Northern Ireland. We welcome applications in areas that correspond with current staff research interests. We look for detailed and well-thought-out proposals which set out specific research questions and outline the originality of your topic or approach. We encourage you to discuss your ideas informally before applying.
