Professional biography

Megan Jones is a PGCE Curriculum Tutor for Primary in the Faculty for Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS). She has a BA degree in Primary Education with QTS from University of Wales Trinity St David and a MA in Education also from University of Wales Trinity St David.

Before becoming a Primary PGCE Curriculum Tutor with the OU in 2021, she worked as a practitioner in the Welsh medium primary sector for 12 years. During that time, Megan also undertook a range of leadership roles from Foundation Phase Leader, acting Headteacher and Head of Lower School. Within these roles, Megan has a particular interest in the wellbeing of children and their families, with pastoral support and developing positive relationships between the school and the home being cores principles to her practice. Her first language is Welsh and she’s passionate about welsh medium education and nurturing multilingual learners.  

 

Mae Megan Jones yn Diwtor Cwricwlwm TAR Cynradd yn y Gyfadran Lles, Addysg ac Astudiaethau Iaith. Mae ganddi radd BA mewn Addysg Gynradd gyda SAC o Brifysgol Cymru'r Drindod Dewi Sant ac MA mewn Addysg hefyd o Brifysgol Cymru'r Drindod Dewi Sant.

Cyn dod yn Diwtor Cwricwlwm TAR Cynradd gyda'r Brifysgol Agored yn 2021, bu’n gweithio fel ymarferydd yn sector cynradd cyfrwng Cymraeg am 12 mlynedd. Yn ystod yr amser hwnnw, ymgymerodd Megan ag ystod o rolau arwain hefyd fel Arweinydd Cyfnod Sylfaen, Pennaeth dros dro a Phennaeth yr Ysgol Isaf. Yn y rolau hyn, mae gan Megan ddiddordeb arbennig yn lles plant a'u teuluoedd, gyda chefnogaeth fugeiliol a datblygu perthnasoedd cadarnhaol rhwng yr ysgol a'r cartref yn egwyddorion creiddiol i'w hymarfer. Cymraeg yw ei hiaith gyntaf ac mae hi'n angerddol am addysg gyfrwng Cymraeg a meithrin dysgwyr amlieithog.
