Ms Anna Colom

I have over 10 years of experience in international development researching the role of digital technologies, media and communication in processes of social change. I have worked as Director of Innovations and Learning at Africa's Voices Foundation and previously as a senior research manager at BBC Media Action, designing and conducting research to inform and evaluate the role of digital technologies in public deliberation processes, social and behaviour change communication, and media development programmes. I currently work as a research manager at The Democratic Society. I have also worked as a researcher for the London School of Economics and Political Science and consulted for a number of NGOs. Formerly, I worked as a journalist and documentary filmmaker. I completed an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). My dissertation looked at the role of participatory video in enhancing the political capabilities of grassroots communities. I hold a degree in Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and I am a trained Participatory Video facilitator.
