Professional biography

Ganiat Kazeem BSc. MSc, AFHEA has a background in applied sciences and social sciences. She holds a BSc. Hons in Microbiology, and an MSc in Information systems specialising in Informatics.

She is an associate fellow of the higher education academy  and a PhD doctorate researcher at the Open University in the department of Computing and Communications.
She is involved in research into the communication, use of information and information and communication technologies for the purpose of risk predictions and decision making in policing. Her work which is due completion in the fall of 2022, has involved inductive interpretive ethnographic work through extensive immersion at police forces since 2015.  She is also a member of the Critical information Systems Group and Centre for Police Research and Learning at the Open University. 

Miss Kazeem is a module convenor, teaching policing in her capacity as visiting lecturer at City, University of London alongside criminology, victimology, gender and crime and criminological controversies linked to technologies and media in crime.  She has also recently been a graduate lecturing intern recieving training and working on the production and delivery of the Evidence, Concepts and Theories in Policing module as part of the policing degree offered at the OU.
