I am a PhD candidate at the Institute of Educational Technology with a background in education, politics and development. For my masters, I studied Educational Planning, Economics and International Development at University College London. My dissertation focused on meeting the right to education for Syrian refugees in Jordan. Currently, my main research interests lie in Educational Technology and the role that technology can play in professional learning and education within the development paradigm including in emergencies and fragile contexts.
I maintain an interest in research around equity in education including widening participation in Higher Education in the UK, curriculum development and innovative pedagogy within primary education.
My current research is part of a programme that aims to help low and middle-income countries (LMICs) address priorities in tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR), through a diverse range of projects that are delivered through a number of key partners. I am exploring how professional learning can strengthen surveillance of drug resistance and laboratory capacity. My thesis question is “How do laboratory professionals in public health facilities in Low-Middle Income countries learn to tackle a global challenge?” My exploratoy study is based in Ghana and works with professionals from hospital laboratories. My main study focuses on laboratory professionals working on drug resistance in HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe and aims to employ technological tools to enhance their proffessional learning.
