Professional biography

I am a full time PhD student at the faculty of Well-being Education and Language studies (WELS). I am in the second year of my PhD.

Before starting my PhD, I did an MSc. in Human Computer Interaction form the University of Sussex. My masters dissertation was designing an inclusive e-shopping website. The main aim of the dissertation was to look at the issues faced by older people while shopping online, how an inclusive website would be of benefit for them, and find ways to make sure that older people feel comfirtable using online shopping facilities. My bachelor's degree was in Computer Science and Engineering from LBS Institute of Technology, India.

I worked at Tata Consultancy Services, India for three years as a systems engineer before my master's degree.

Research interests

My broad research interests are Human Computer Interaction, inclusive design, education in later life. My current research is to explore the possibilities of designing an e-learning system for older people and to see how later life learning could help them improve their well-being.

My PhD research topic is: Digital Health Literacy for Older People: Investigating the Motivations, Challenges, and Experiences.

In my research, I aim to create a clear understanding of how people aged over 60 use digital resources to manage their health. These resources may include websites, blogs, online communities, mobile apps, wearable devices, or any other resource that would help you gain health information by digital means.
