Profile summary

Professional biography

I graduated in 2014 with a BA in philosophy from Hull University before graduating a year later in 2015 with an MA in philosophy from the University of Essex. After a few years of working and thinking about philosophy on the side, I applied for a PhD at the Open University and was lucky enough to receive the OOCDTP studentship.

Research interests

My PhD focuses on issues related to agency, values, and selfhood found in the writings of Friedrich Nietzsche. Of central importance for my project is a clarification of what Nietzsche’s insights, arguments, and claims regarding human moral psychology amount to and whether they can be used to support a potentially rich and fruitful conception of human action, valuing and willing as embodied.
