Professional biography

I am a Microbial Ecologist by training. 

  • 2019-present: Post-doctoral Researcher at AstrobiologyOU (Microbial Survival and Adaptation in Saline Environments)
  • 2018-2019: Swiss National Science Foundation Fellow at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (Wallingford, UK) and at the German Aerospace Centre (Cologne, Germany) (Study of Unusual Spore-forming Bacteria in Extreme and Fluctuating Environments)
  • 2016-2017: Swiss National Science Foundation Fellow at the Universities of Neuchatel and Lausanne, Switzerland (Paleo-ecological indicators in lake sediments based on a multidisciplinary approach of endospore-forming Firmicutes and the chemical and isotopic composition of sediments and organic matter​)
  • 2011-2012: Swiss Confederation Excellence Fellowship at the University of Neuchatel (Diversity and distribution of spore-forming bacteria from geothermal sites in Greece).
