Research data

The Management Information (MI) and Systems team in the Research, Enterprise and Scholarship (RES) Unit monitors and reports on the University's academic and research performance. We can provide access to data and information on both OU academic and research performance, and that of other Higher Education Institutions and the sector as a whole.

We also perform competitor benchmarking and monitor the external higher education environment.

External data

The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) collects and publishes a range of data from UK higher education institutions.

The Higher Education Information Database for Institutions (HeidiPlus) is operated by HESA. It is a web-based information system which provides for easy access, extraction and manipulation of data for essential institutional planning and reporting. Follow the links on the site to access information from HEIDI.

The MI and Systems team also provides oversight and stewardship of specific RES related systems. This includes the University Awards Management System (AMS).

Consolidated quarterly reports

These reports summarise institutional research activity and performance via a range of indicators such as research income, enterprise and knowledge exchange, impact, research degrees student data and Open Access compliance. All data is presented at the institutional level, with some data broken down by Faculty.
