Open University Team - UK

Craig Walker has been a research associate with Development, Policy and Practice at The Open University since 2016. He came to the OU as a student doing a Masters in Development Management, after which, he went on to do a PhD in the department. Craig’s research centres broadly on political violence, war, peacebuilding processes and democracy in fragile states. Recently, he has had the opportunity to work on a number of migration-centred projects such as peacebuilding between refugee and host community relations and the role of migrants as contributors to inclusive growth in the country of origin and hosting. Underpinning Craig’s research is a focus on the role of political and social constructions of identity as a cause of conflict. Within MIAG, he is particularly interested in perceptions of migrants as agents of growth in political, policy and public discourse.
