Ramos Muanamoha attained a PhD in Population Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), an MA in Demography from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), and a Bachelors in Geography with honors from Martin-Luther Universität Halle-Wittenberg (Germany). Since 1988, he has been both lecturing and conducting research in the field of Geography, Demography, and Population issues, based at Eduardo Mondlane University. Ramos has published on topics related to demographic dynamics, internal and international migration, and spatial distribution of the population in Mozambique..
