Secondary Physics

The Rosetta mission can be used as an example to unlock the power of physics in the classroom. Check out the resouces on this page to help bring physics alive in your classroom.

Marble-ous ellipses, Speed and time of orbiting bodies

This video, part of a new series of ESA teaching resources called 'Teach with space', shows an experiment that can be performed by teachers in the classroom to demonstrate Kepler’s laws of planetary motion, in particular how orbiting bodies sweep out equal areas in equal times and the dramatic effect this has on their orbital velocity. Download all the resources you need to teach this in YOUR classroom.

Gravity wells, Kepler and Newton’s laws

This video, part of a new series of ESA teaching resources called 'Teach with space', shows an experiment that can be performed by teachers in the classroom to demonstrate orbital parameters in gravitational fields.

ATV Jules Verne - Orbits and body motion in space

This video, part on an ESA series highlighting visionary scientists who have lent their name to Europe's ATV, discusses Kepler and orbits, and mentions Rosetta too.....
