Stephen Peake and Todd Westbrook

The Open University is supporting the Stephen Peake and Todd Westbrook event at Aye Write, Glasgow's annual book festival.

Stephen Peake, Professor of Climate Change and Energy at The Open University (pictured left), takes us on a guided tour of the ten most essential aspects of this timely and fast-moving science, examining the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy that lies at the heart of a brighter climate future. His book 10 Short Lessons in Renewable Energy distils the key issues of this timely subject, examining how we can harness the power of a range of ground-breaking energy technologies most effectively to achieve a sustainable energy future.

In the first and only book to explore Scotland's part in the green revolution and what the future may hold, Revolution: A Short Sharp History of Scottish Wind Power - And Where it Goes From Here, Todd Westbrook (pictured right) refutes common arguments against wind power with hard facts and a wry sense of humour.

Tickets are £5 and available now on the Aye Write website.

There is a wide range of free learning in relation to climate change on the OU's site OpenLearn, such as the short introductory level course Could we control our climate?.
