The Open University is delighted to host 'The Beauty of Maths: Tiling, Geometry and Art' as part of Maths Week Scotland 2022. At this free drop-in event you can view art pieces created by artists, mathematicians and engineers before getting hands-on to create your own.

Can you solve our giant soma cube or crack the Penrose tiling challenge?

Test the strength and flexibility of structures created by Open University engineers and create your own mathematical artwork to take home or to share in our virtual gallery.

This activity is suitable for adults and families.

Take a peak at some of the artists works, on the OU's Mathematics & Statistics website

For more information on the other events and activities, visit the Maths Week Scotland website. You can also follow the week on Twitter with the hashtag #MathsWeekScot.

There is a wide range of free learning about Maths on the OU's free learning site OpenLearn.
