The South of Scotland Industry Skills Roadshow - Dumfries & Galloway (cancelled)

The OU in Scotland is delighted to support The South of Scotland Industry Roadshow, providing employers the chance to hear first-hand about the business orientated provision available.

Two information roadshow events are being co-delivered by the region’s educational partners, taking place on 10 March in Dumfries and Galloway and in the Scottish Borders on 13 March.

Findings from the recent Open University in Scotland Business Barometer Report, produced in association with the British Chamber of Commerce’, highlighted that recruitment and retention is now the biggest, and most challenging issue facing businesses, with many employers struggling to compete in attracting and retaining skilled and experienced workers, particularly those operating across Scotland’s more rural locations.

The Open University in Scotland, along with other leading educational partners in the South of Scotland, offer a vast range of business orientated qualifications and short courses that allow learners to ‘earn whilst they learn’ - and can directly contribute to helping business’s improve output, profitability and growth whilst at the same time strengthen their recruitment and retention offer to both their current and future workforce. However, this provision can often be complex and time consuming for employers to navigate and understand.
