The Open University is committed to strengthening links with Scotland’s colleges and exploring new opportunities for innovative partnership working.
Teaching partnerships between colleges across Scotland and The Open University allow HNC and HND students to progress seamlessly to OU degree study at their college campus. For example, the OU currently delivers campus-based social sciences curriculum at Ayrshire College, City of Glasgow College and Fife College, as well as modules at Ayrshire College which lead to social work qualifications.
This new transition programme offers Higher National Certificate Social Services students at Ayrshire College with a unique, flexible and supportive pathway to the OU degree and provides an alternative route into gaining a professional Social Work qualification, leading to enhanced employment opportunities for our students.
