Skills for employability

We support workers who are at risk of redundancy to gain skills for career and employment opportunities.

We help tackle skills gaps among jobseekers in over 90 job centres in Scotland. Working in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and Jobcentre Plus, we help work coaches to use our courses with jobseekers who are looking to increase their skills and secure employment.

For example, with DWP we developed a guide to using our free learning site OpenLearn

We provide access to OpenLearn on the Skills Development Scotland’s My World of Work website. We also work in partnership with the Scottish Government’s free advice and support service, Partnership Action for Continued Employment.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Open University, particularly on the OpenLearn DWP guide, where our work coaches have benefitted from information sessions to help guide customers through valuable accredited learning products and employability support.
