Late or Missing Materials

Module materials are divided into numbered mailings. These leave our Warehouse to a schedule designed to deliver content to students in time for the related study weeks. A large amount of materials are despatched following the closing date of registrations and our Warehouse is consequently very busy at this time. Please be reassured that all SiSE students registered on undergraduate modules from the SiSE prospectus will be sent an offline printed pack, please check your deliveries for the individual mailings which are sent by courier. Students who register late onto modules will be sent their offline pack once registration is finalised. Mailings can take 10 days to arrive.

Problems with materials can be reported to the OU's dedicated Distribution Helpdesk. The Helpdesk can see what mailings have been despatched, when they were despatched and, using tracking data, when they were delivered.

Within the SiSE Team, SiSE-Accessibility@open.ac.uk can provide support in identifying which materials are missing. Please do not take missing or late materials queries to tutors or other parts of the SiSE Team. This can result in multiple enquiries to the Helpdesk and a delay in providing a solution.

Reporting Missing Materials

Please check the Undergraduate Module Materials List if your students tell you that they are missing items.

If you are able to identify the 'SUP' code (or ISBN for textbooks) of the missing item please contact the Helpdesk directly by emailing distribution-helpdesk@open.ac.uk with the following:

- individual student's name and Personal Identifier (PI) number

- module code

- the mailing number

- item description and the SUP code

If you are unable to identify which item the student is missing from their description then please contact SiSE-Accessibility@open.ac.uk who will check the materials for the item described. This part of the SiSE team can also send some materials in pdf format if you are able to print these on site.
