Supporting you with your studies this year

While we hope you are progressing well with your studies, we know how hard lockdown has been for many of you and how difficult it can be to balance studying around the rest of your life.

As President of the Students Association and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Students), we are committed to doing everything we can to support you to succeed in your study goals. We are listening and we have changed some of our policies to provide additional support during this challenging year.

OUSET deadline information

OUSET (Open University Students Educational Trust) is the student charity where funds raised by students are used to benefit students in financial hardship.

 

To be eligible for this funding, students should have already completed 30 credits of study with the Open University which is linked to a qualification, with funding applications only being made for modules which are also linked to the same qualification. Please also be aware that undergraduate or postgraduate students entitled to a student loan would not be eligible for this funding.

OU Access modules top PET's funded list

The Prisoner’s Education Trust (PET) have recently released figures of the 10 most popular courses learners have studied using PET funding, and Open University Access Modules have come out on top.

The Students in Secure Environments (SiSE) Team have featured in the OU news twice this past week. The first article allows you to meet the teams based in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales supporting students in secure environments and hear about the work we do. The second features SiSE Regional Manager Stephen Akpabio-Klementowski who talks about his journey from prisoner, to OU student, to OU staff.
