What this lab helps me to achieve

  • measure ultraviolet/visible absorption spectrum of liquid and some solid samples
  • separate components of a liquid sample based on polarity, size and charge and identify by mass spectroscopy
  • analyse organic compounds
  • determine chemical bonds present in your sample by infra-red spectroscopy
  • identify organic gas present in your sample
  • identify, separate and quantify components in a volatile liquid sample by gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectroscopy (MS)
  • quantify fluorescence in your sample
  • determine the temperature at which your material undergo phase changes
  • determine organic volatile compounds in your sample SIFT/Mass spectrometry

Who can use it

  • all STEM students, academics, visiting researchers.
