'You tell me nothing of Mrs Cockburn. I have read but little yet, but she seems to have had a most remarkable clear understanding and an excellent heart. By what I have read of her prose, I should by no means suspect she had a genius formed for poetry, which is perhaps one reason why I have not yet looked into her play.'
