AMONG those collecting their awards at the Gateshead degree ceremony was BBC Look North weather presenter Trai Anfield. She began studying in the early 1990s, and credits her studies with helping her get through a seven-year battle with ME. “The OU revolutionised and kick-started my career – otherwise I wouldn’t have had the qualifications the Met Office was looking for,” said Trai, who is now tackling postgraduate studies in forecasting.
