Using Elluminate

Elluminate is a synchronous audio conferencing tool which is used primarily to deliver tutorials in some courses. It enables you to talk in real time to your tutor or other students over the internet, and includes additional tools such as an interactive whiteboard and the ability to share web pages.

Courses use Elluminate for tutorial work, including discussing and exploring concepts visually, or for demonstrations.

How to start

If Elluminate is part of your course a 'Join Meeting' link will be available on your course website. The first time you use it, the software will download (about 4 MB).

In general, once a group has been set up with Elluminate the tool will be available for use by any member at any time for the duration of the course. This means that students can also use the session for peer support when it is not being used for scheduled activities.

Note that formal tutorials will continue to be scheduled by the Tutorial Finder.
