Taking notes for languages students

Taking notes helps you to concentrate: make written, mental, and audio notes from video and audio resources.

All language courses include an audio component, and most a video component as well. Both are linked to a variety of activities for you to complete, including

  • preparation for other exercises
  • playing extracts or showing sequences where you are asked to make notes about finding certain objects or matching phrases.

If your hearing is impaired, or you have difficulty listening to audio material, get in touch with your tutor or regional or national centre for advice.

  • Audio and video resources - how to get the best from your course resources
  • Make your own notes - think about what style of notes will work for you
