9. Janet Rawlings provided some lighter fare with if you will allow the pun two tales from The Frivolous Mouse, by Manfred Kef[?]er [i.e. ‘Kyber’]. In spite of the excellence of the English we no doubt missed many of the allusions and some of the satire. But it was excellent fun, + it would be hard to say whether we were more intrigued by the connexion between morals and velvet, or by the crocodile with his unsympathetic expression round the mouth, and the little ape and his sweetheart.'
