Welcome to the H818 Online Conference resource

The annual H818 Online Conference is part of the activities of module H818 ‘The Networked Practitioner’, one of the modules making up The Open University’s Masters in Online and Distance Education (MAODE).

Every February a conference takes place using The Open University’s Online Rooms, usually over three days, in which all students studying the H818 module deliver a short presentation about their module-related project work, and respond to questions from the audience. The presentations relate to the main conference theme ‘Open Education in an Open Landscape’ and one of the subthemes: Inclusion, Innovation or Implementation. Each day of the conference also features an invited keynote presentation from an expert in the field.

Conference attendance is open to all current and former MAODE students to attend, along with staff from the MAODE’s home department at The Open University, namely the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS). The registration process for attending each February’s conference opens in late December.
