Visiting Fellowship

I am currently part way through a month’s study leave as the recipient of a Visiting Fellowship at Bridwell Library, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. I have been using the library’s extensive resources on hymnology and Methodist history in connection with my forthcoming book British Methodist Hymnody, which will be published as part of the Ashgate Methodist Studies Series. In particular, I have been looking at eighteenth- and nineteenth-century American hymnals to examine how British and American repertoires of hymnody influenced each other in this period.
