On Saturday 2nd April, Professor Annika Mombauer gave a well-received lecture to the OU History Society.Ā The lecture explored German attitudes towards the Armistice in November 1918 and the Treaty of Versailles. It asks why Germans do not mark Armistice day with a minuteās silence and whether in fact peace began for Germans on 11th November 1918.
