Footage description: The programme begins with shots of London docks at night. From there James Dator speaks of the need to transform the social environment. Film of a train passing through an industrial landscape, and then of steel-making processes. The film is accompanied by Gracie Fields singing 'Whatever will be' In front of an industrial landscape, Dator talks of the need to build a society free of industrialisation. Shots of a rural landscape. Over film of a disused factory he advocates aIternative lifestyles. Shots of a commune interior. Dator enthuses about this kind of alternative living. The inhabitants of the commune are seen sitting down to a meal. Members of the commune explain why they value their unusual lifestyle. Film of a car wreck being turned into scrap metal. In voice-over Dator comments on the lack of re-cycling of materials in modern society. Over shots of rubbish dumps Mary Hopkins sings Que Sera Sera. Dator maintains that we need to reconsider our attitudes towards our physical environment, and to concepts of ugliness and beauty. These remarks are illustrated by a still of a circus clown with a donkey. Dream sequence of jumbled images, over which Umoya is sung by Miriam Makebe. From within a theatre Dator asserts that a new stage of human evolution is imminent. He advocates revolution in the fields of technology and politics. Film of a playground and children. The programme ends with a succession of shots of urban and rural scenes, over which, Dator calls for a determination to create a better future.
