Description
A series of hard-hitting documentaries which will offer insights into the nature and extent of contemporary poverty. Documentary based on a recent study exploring poverty and life expectancy of Lon...doners. The programme looks at lives of Londoners by plotting local-level life expectancy data using the London Underground network as a framework. It's been discovered that the highest drop in life expectancy and standard of living lies between Oxford Circus (highest) to Star Lane in east London (lowest) - a drop which equates to a gap between the UK and Ethiopia. The film explores the lives of some residents in these two areas and looks at aspirations and hopes of individuals and families living at the opposite end of the spectrum. It includes pupils from St. Helen's Catholic Primary School in Newham, East London.
