Evaluating staff development events: sharing learning and expertise – Charlotte Stevens

Abstract:

The Open University Associate Lecturer Support and Professional Development (ALSPD) team works with colleagues across the University to deliver a programme of online cross-faculty staff development events for associate lecturers.  In 2019, evaluation of events was identified as a strategic objective for the team, which led to the development of a co-evaluation model using outcomes-based surveys designed to capture reactions, learning and planned changes in behaviour (Kirkpatrick, 2006; Guskey, 2016; Stefani and Baume, 2016).  Drawing on 2021-22 event data, this session will share some of the learning and expertise gained through developing that model.
