Seminar – Talking, feedback, inhibition, emotions and learning…

Wayne will be sharing some of his diverse research experience at the UCL Knowledge Lab, University College London. Three projects will be briefly introduced: unLocke, a gameshow-like intervention called ‘Stop and Think’, which is informed by neuroscience and is designed to help children suppress intuitive responses. Intelligence Unleashed. An argument for AI in Education, a report that aimed to explain AIED to a non-specialist reader (its goals, how it is built, and how it works) and to set out the argument for what AIED can offer learning. And iTalk2Learn, which developed an open-source intelligent tutoring platform to support maths learning for students aged 5 to 11, and integrated exploratory and structured practice learning environments and involved speech engagement and affect-aware formative feedback.
