Toni Fallon – Using computer mediated role-play as a research, clinical and educational ‘tool’.

Abstract: A breadth of interdisciplinary research highlights the benefits of utilising computer technologies in research with children and young people. The Covid-19 pandemic further highlighted the importance of remote and distance technologies for supporting children and young people with their education and mental wellbeing.

This talk will explore the benefits and challenges of creating and using computer mediated role-play as a research ‘tool’ for measuring social vulnerabilities, and the factors that predict social vulnerability in both children and young adults. Future potential for creating bespoke interventions, and implications for social justice and inclusion will be discussed.
