Working across clusters

How can we work across our clusters on methodological questions?
During one of the discussions at the Medialab on Monday I thought that one ways of doing this would be to start from the kind of data and their representation we look at:

  • What kind of data are being gathered ? visual, numbers, digital, statements?
  • How methodology turns data into in-formation
  • How does the methodology and the kind of data gathered imply a particular formation of the social (e.g. the social as visual relations, digitalization of the social, ?)?
  • What visions of social and political changes are embedded in methodologies? (For example: How does the emphasis on the visual imply an understanding of a transformation in visually mediated relations and thus regimes of visibility, as was for example captured in the idea of neo-medievalism a few decades ago (at least as developed by Eco).)
