Student engagement

The best feedback in the World is no use unless students engage with it. As students grow more independent, they should gradually become able to generate internal feedback that integrates and goes beyond external feedback from tutors. In this project we use two different approaches in order to evaluate the extent to which students engage with assignment feedback in both institutions.

The first approach consists of asking students to talk us through the feedback they got on one of their assignments and examine their responses. This method, that could be referred to as feedback on feedback was used with 10 Open University students →  Find out more

The second approach consists of analysing the feedback that students give to other students at different stages intheir degree. This peer to peer feedback method was adopted at the University of Manchester, where it is standard practice within Italian modules.
