JISC interim report

The second interim report (due on the 03.09.12) was submitted on schedule.

Summary of progress so far:

1. Analysis of e-feedback given by tutors

All feedback data from both institutions (OU and Manchester) has now been collected, anonymised and audio feedback has been transcribed. Data analysis is currently in progress.

2. Attitudes, perceptions and preferences of tutors and students:

All student and tutor surveys have been completed. A preliminary analysis of survey results from the OU is already available. A more detailed analysis will follow in due course.

3. Student engagement with e-feedback

Peer feedback data from 16 students at the University of Manchester has been collected. Data analysis to begin shortly.

Screencast recordings from OU students giving “feedback on feedback” will be collected in November after students have done their examinations.

For a summary of our findings to date, see the presentation slides from our paper at Languages in Higher Education 2012 conference in Edinburgh (5-6 July): Evaluating assignment e-feedback in Higher Education
