Appointments at residential schools

We shall be recruiting for teaching posts at our 2015 languages residential schools from Thursday 4th September 2014. Schools will be taking place in spring rather than summer 2015 because of the move to the new academic framework. The closing date for applications will be 2nd October.

From Thursday 4th September we shall also be recruiting for teaching posts at all residential schools for the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) running between January 2015 and August 2015. The closing date for applications will be 25th September 2014.

Full details of the role types, modules, dates and venues, together with application forms and job descriptions will be available on our website http://www.open.ac.uk/employment/jobs-external.asp  for external staff and http://intranet.open.ac.uk/employment/jobs-internal.asp for internal staff from this date.

Please ensure you complete each section of the application, submit your application on the correct application form and by the closing date for applications, as we will be unable to accept incomplete applications, applications submitted on an incorrect or out of date form or applications submitted after the closing date.

If you are a successful candidate you may be required to supply evidence to support your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom, this is a legal requirement. If we require any evidence from you we will contact you separately advising the process to follow. No contract of employment will be raised until the full eligibility process has been followed.

The Open University is only able to accept applications for Residential Schools from applicants who are resident in the UK or ROI.

We are looking for people who have at least a first degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, have either had experience of or are interested in adult learning, and can adopt a facilitative and student-centred approach to adult learning.

Open University residential schools are offered to students for a variety of modules to cover aspects of the subject that cannot be taught at a distance, delivering certain learning outcomes which are essential for a particular qualification.
