I currently work at The Open University (OU) as a Senior Research Fellow. I am an accomplished post-doctoral researcher/analyst with a successful list of publications and a good record of completed funded research projects. I have a long history of project managing policy driven evaluation and research. I also have a strong background in psychometric analysis, survey design and methodology and quantitative statistical analysis. Throughout my career I have worked with large longitudinal survey data sets, and produced many academic journal papers, reports and other outlets.
I have worked at the OU since 2018 as both a Research Fellow and Associate Lecturer (AL). I have worked at numerous other UK Higher Education Institutes (HEI), inlcuding King's College London, University of Portsmouth, University of Surrey and Middlesex University.
My specialist area of interest is Organisational Psychology and Criminology. My research specialism is social science survey methodology, which includes questionnaire design, data collation, data analysis, and the production of reports and published papers. Other areas of expertise include psychometric analysis, longitudinal data analysis (including Structural Equation Modelling, SPSS, AMOS etc).
My theoretical background using the above methods is stress and well-being, the design of workplace instruments that measure work-related stress, Quality of Working Life (QoWL) and workplace coping strategies. My most recent research interest is Work-Related Violence. (WRV).
Please refer to my list of publications and successful funding bids that support my research interests outlined above.
Similarly to my professional biography and research interests, my teaching revolves around survey design, statistical analysis and psychological theory.
Over the past 20 years I have tutored at the OU on both undergraduate and post-graduate social science modules. I currently tutor on level 3 module DE300 (Investigating Psychology 3).
I have also undertaken PhD supervion at the OU Faculty of Business and Law (FBL). I welcome future inquiries from students that are interested in my area of research.
My research contributes to the academic field of Organisational Psychology and Criminology in many ways. My contribution to the design and implementation of survey instruments allows employers to reliably measure employee stress, Quality of Working Life (QoWL) and Work-Related Violence (WRV), which is a legal duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974). My publications also have impact across academia which allows future researchers to further develop the field of interest.
I also contribute to the following list of networks, groups and journals, which allows me to further address the impact and engagement of my work:
