Professional biography

I am Office Manager for the interdisciplinary AstrobiologyOU group.

In my previous role as Project Administrator in the School of Physical Sciences I was responsible for the administration relating to postgraduate research students throughout their student journey from recruitment to completion. I was the administrator for the School’s panel working towards the submission for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2021. As administrator for the School’s Equality and Diversity team, I contributed to their successful application to retain Athena SWAN Silver status in 2021. It was my passion for equality and diversity which drew me to a part time secondment with the OU’s Equality Diversity and Inclusion team as Project Officer, Athena SWAN where I enjoyed working with people across the OU towards a common goal – achieving the renewal of the University’s Bronze award.

Events organisation is one of my key strengths which I developed when organising conferences, seminars and 
training programmes for local government. 

I also bring communication and public relations skills from previous roles in the private sector to my current role.
