I am working towards a PhD in Anthrozoology, exploring Human-Animal Relationships in the context of wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and sanctuary. These particular relationships, with wild-born animals in care and in many instances in long term captivity, have much to teach us about our own healing, resilience, animal-natures, wildness, and place within the ecosystems we inhabit. This can contribute to better wellbeing for us and for them, and help us to create healthier ways to live alongsdie each other.
I have a previous academic background in health, social and environmental psychology, applied to human-natural environment relationships and in particular to improve resilience and risk management for natural hazards.
For the past decade I have been working as a consultant and senior leader in health, wellbeing, and inclusion in the workplace. Alongside this I run a small wildlife sanctuary from my home in East Yorkshire.
