Professional biography

My role as Senior Manager Teaching & Students in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences is primarily project based, supporting the portfolio of the Associate Dean, Teaching & Students.  These projects aim to enhanced the way we teach and the student experience.  I work with employability leads and others in the employability space to strategically enhance and develop the faculty's engagement with the university's employabilty strategy.   This includes oversight of the faculty's mapping of modules both in presentation and in production against the OU's employability framework, leading the work of the employability working group around developing KPIs and promoting the use of FutureYOU.  Bringing insights from my former role as the faculty's senior manager responsible for research post award and postgraduate research students, I am working with the FASS Associate Dean Teaching, DIrectors of Teaching and others to develop the faculty's framework for ethical research for taught postgraduate and undergraduate modules.  Working with the Deputy Associate Dean Teaching and Students, I am also involved in the development of a programme of student support sessions to improve student learning around academic conduct issues and academic training related to teaching.  As part of the annual cycle of business, I've worked with colleagues to review and update the faculty's tuition framework and assessment guides, and organise twice yearly Student Hub Live events for the faculty.  I hold the faculty's register of external examiners and am the faculty's contact and representative on the Diagnostic Assurance Group, where I am currently working on 2 sub-groups:  looking at how to get advice from diagnostics into KMS and updating the advisors & ALs, and looking at how to develop closer working plans with other diagnostic projects and create repository for shared information.
