BBC Persian Service and the Iranian Revolution of 1979

Annabelle Sreberny and Massoumeh Torfeh are organising a witness seminar on the role of the BBC Persian service in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. A number of key figures active at that time, both Iranian and British, have been invited, including diplomats, civil servants, journalists have been invited to speak in front of an invited audience.

A joint feedback seminar with BBC Arabic and BBC Persian is in preparation for early 2010.

There is also an idea to hold a witness seminar about the 2009 election and its aftermath later in 2010.
