Description
Carl Friedrich Adolf Steinkopff was a German Protestant clergyman who founded the oldest German Bible Society, originally called the 'Privileged Württemberg Bible Institute' in 1812. He was appointed minister of the German Lutheran Church in the Savoy, London in 1801. He travelled to several European countries visiting the many Bible societies he founded and supported.
