New evidence about the climate on ancient Mars
OU researchers have found that Mars once had large seas on its surface and a water cycle similar to Earth. In a paper published in Earth and Planetary Science Letters, lead author from the OU, Dr Peter Fawdon, Post Doctoral Research Associate in the Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, describes how Mars went from having a water cycle similar to that of Earth to being a cold, desert-like landscape in a relatively short period.
