PhD Social Psychology, LSE, 1987

I was a member of the Psychology Department at the University of East London (1987-1988) and then Birkbeck College, University of London (1988-1998).

My research interests focused on social psychological aspects of group processes, social identities and collective action, in particular exploring participation in political groups and trade unions. I joined the OU in 1998 as an Associate Lecturer on the third level Social Psychology module. In 2001 I became a full-time member of staff with a role as Staff Tutor in the South East of England. In 2014 I took up the role of Director of the Psychology & Counselling Student Support Team (SST).
